Ahtna Heritage Foundation Details
This non-profit founded in 1986 teaches visitors and local communities about the Ahtna people and culture. The primary goal of the foundation is to support the educational goals for Ahtna people, but the foundation also works to help others learn about the Ahtna people, their culture, and their language. The foundation has a cultural center just north of Copper Center called the C'ek'aedi Hwnax or 'Legacy House'. This cultural center is the core of the foundations principles: educating locals and visitors, offering cultural resources of the Ahtna people, and keeping the sacred traditions alive and well.
