Yellowstone Lake Details
This is one of the largest mountain lakes in North America, at 7,733 feet in elevation and 20 miles long by 14 miles wide. It's also quite deep, averaging 137 feet but more than 300 feet deep in places. Several hiking trails offers varied views of the lake, including the easy Pelican Creek Trail and Storm Point Trail, or the more challenging Elephant Back Mountain Trail. The Lake Village is home to the historic Lake Yellowstone Hotel, ranger station, and lodge.
