Heron Pond & Swan Lake Details

A mostly level trail, this hike leads to two distinct ponds which are homes to birds and other wildlife, including trumpeter swans and moose. The hike begins by skirting the edge of the Colter Bay Marina and meanders along the Colter Bay shoreline, where you should occasionally tear your eyes away the mountain vistas to look for the abundant wildlife in this area. Side trails lead to the Jackson Lake Overlook and Hermitage Point. The trail begins at the Hermitage Point Trailhead, which is at the Colter Bay Visitor Center parking area's southern end.
