Happy Creek is a short, fully accessible boardwalk trail that follows the along the creek of the same name, eventually turning into the non-accessible forest trail to Happy Creek Falls. The trail is a popular stop for motorists touring the North Cascades Scenic Highway, and is a favorite of families with small children. The boardwalk is an easy loop trail intended to be a self-guided, interpretive tour of the North Cascades' natural features, and there are interesting plaques and signs to help explain the surrounding ecosystem. Follow the trail uphill from the boardwalk to get to Happy Creek Falls, a small and less frequently visited cascade surrounded by abandoned mining artifacts. The trailhead is just east of Ross Lake Trailhead on State Route 20, at milepost 134.
