South Tahoma Glacier Details

The South Tahoma Glacier lies on the southwest side of Mount Rainier and measures 1.1 square miles. It begins in a cirque at 10,600 feet and flows southwest, eventually collecting rock debris before reaching its terminus at 5,100 feet in the Tahoma Creek Valley. At times throughout its history, the glacier has merged with the Tahoma Glacier. The runoff from this glacier drains into the Nisqually River.
