Success Divide Details
Success Divide is a ridge on the southwestern side of Mount Rainier that runs from about 6,000 feet northeast up to the Success Cleaver at about 9,200 feet, separating the South Tahoma Glacier to the northwest and the Pyramid and Success glaciers to the southeast. Hikers can approach the summit from Longmire and Indian Henry's Hunting Ground, and then follow Success Divide up to the cleaver, eventually ending at the Columbia Crest summit. This climbing route is one of the only ones on Mount Rainier that doesn't cross a glacier to reach the summit, though it is still considered a very challenging route.
