Nisqually River Details

The 81-mile-long Nisqually River originates as meltwater from the Nisqually Glacier on the south flank of Mt. Rainier. The river runs out of the park and through the towns of Ashford and Elbe along Route 706, and eventually empties into Puget Sound. The river has several major tributaries within the park, including Kautz Creek, Van Trump Creek, and the Paradise River. It can be viewed from the Nisqually Vista Trail.
