National Park Inn Details
The National Park Inn, located at 2,175 feet, stays open year round, and offers 25 guest rooms (including several wheelchair-accessible rooms), a dining room, a general store, and a very helpful front desk where you can mail letters and postcards. Pause for a moment to sit in a chair on the wide front porch and take in the peaceful scene. The inn is one of dozens of buildings that make up the Longmire National Historic District, which also includes a small museum that tells the history of the park, and the Longmire Administration Building that's home to the Longmire Wilderness Information Center. Outside this historic building, you'll find an old car once used for taking visitors up to Paradise. The inn has accessible restrooms and a fully accessible dining room. About half of the .7-mile Trail of the Shadows, which starts across the street from the inn, is accessible to wheelchairs. Look for signs that discuss the early homesteaders and development in the area. For reservations, call 360-569-2275. The restaurant welcomes diners from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays through Thursdays, and 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. Fridays, Saturdays, and holidays.
