Situated 1-mile from the Massachusetts border, this quiet state park is an undeveloped slice of natural beauty. It encompasses the entire 18-acre Sweet Pond, which was built in the 1800s to supply water to a local mill. This area was mostly residential, and there were numerous homes and farmsteads that have existed along the shores for almost 250 years. While there are not any rental facilities on-site, guests are more than welcome to kayak or canoe around the pond. There is also a 1.3-mile walking trail that leads around the perimeter of the water, taking you to see the historic farms from the 1700s.
