Elmore State Park Details

This 755-acre park is sandwiched between Lake Elmore and Elmore Mountain, so there are plenty of opportunities for various land and water-based activities. Spend the take relaxing on the sandy beach of the lake or trek up the slopes of the mountain to the summit, where you can enjoy sweeping views over the park itself. There are also tent and RV sites as well as lean-to shelters in case you want to camp underneath the stars for a few nights. The land was gifted to the state by the town of Elmore during the Great Depression. The Civilian Conservation Corps promptly started to work on transforming the land into a public park, building roads, a beach house, and a small beach along the shore.
