Upper Emerald Pool Trail Details

The most strenuous of the three Emerald Pools trails, this trail ascends from the middle pools over the ridges above. The trail is pretty rugged, and contains some particularly steep section, but leads to the prettiest of the Emerald Pools. The pool is surrounded by massive, high-reaching cliff-faces complete with hanging gardens, ferns, mosses, and shade-loving wildflowers. Although any views from the pool are obscured by the cliff walls, the trail to the pools does yield a few pretty vistas of the surrounding peaks.
