Altar of Sacrifice Details
One look at this massive, blocky rock formation and it's easy to see where the sandstone giant got its name. The cap of this spectacular feature is made from brilliant white limestone, but oxidized iron deposits have created large crimson streaks dripping down the eastern cliff face. Although the flat-topped formation is visible from a number of areas, the best views of the "blood" stains on this sacrificial altar are from the rear of the Human History Museum.
