Mount Kinesava Details

This massive sandstone mountain is named after the Paiute Indian god who had a troublesome habit of starting fires in incredibly high places, like the summit of the 7,285-foot Mout Kinesava. The mountain's striated cliffs and its often snow-covered peak tower over the Kolob Canyon area, and can be seen from a number of different vantage points within the park -- the best of which are Observation Point or the Kolob Terrace.
