Syncline Loop Trail Details

A trail for experienced hikers, the 8.4-mile Syncline Loop Trail is more a canyon exploration rather than a hike with sweeping vistas. Enjoy the diversity of scenery along the circuit - rich riparian vegetation, wildlife and backcountry solitude. There is no shade along the route but there are plenty of challenging obstacles including exposure, steep slickrock and climbing over boulders. The difficult loop trail takes more time than an average hike of the same distance due to the scraggy terrain and route-finding skills required. Bring a map, compass and plenty of water.
