Wilhite Trail Details

From the Island in the Sky mesa the Wilhite Trail descends 5.85 miles to the White Rim Road. The strenuous trail bisects level grassland and slickrock before steeply dropping 850 feet in just over half a mile. The exceptionally beautiful red rock moonscape is decorated with Wingate Sandstone walls and canyons. Once you arrive at the White Rim Trail, look for the nearby slot canyon. Fall through spring is the best time to enjoy this arid and shadeless trail. Budget a full day for the hike.
