Masterson State Forest Details

This forest is named after Leonora Masterson, who donated all 558-acres of land to Jasper County. It is now used as a forestry research center to protect the local wildlife and foliage, including the native longleaf pine tree and the southern yellow pine tree. You can see these initiatives by trekking along the educational walking loop or visiting numerous forest management research and demonstration sites. There is also a small pond for relaxing and an area where you can enjoy a picnic lunch.
