Despite only being 500 acres, this state park has it all - scenic hiking trails, sparkling blue lakes, fishing piers, and even equestrian rings! Whether you're coming to explore the natural landscape or looking to take a dip in the refreshing waters, there's plenty to do in this family-friendly park. The park is just 14 miles outside of Wichita Falls and is centered around Lake Arrowhead (a small reservoir off the Little Wichita River). It first opened as a state park in 1970, under the State Parks Bond Program of Texas. During your visit, you'll have access to over 5 miles of hiking trails and walking paths, as well as numerous activities and sports around the lake. You can spend the day swimming, boating, and water skiing in the water, or you can simply unwind on the beach for an afternoon of sunbathing.
