Bridal Veil Falls Details

Bridal Veil Falls is just one of the many awe-inspiring attractions you'll see along the Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway. The 60-foot waterfall can be seen right off of the scenic byway (Route 14A), and gets its name from the pattern the water makes as it cascades in a thin sheet over a limestone cliff. There is a large, handicapped-accessible pullout where you can park and view the waterfall, as well as a viewing platform across the street. The best time to visit the falls is in the spring, when the winter snow and ice is melting and the falls are the most active. Ice climbers frequent the waterfall during the winter, so if you visit during the snowy months be sure to stop by and watch them make their way up the steep, vertical ice.
