Notch Trail Details

Some of the most unbelievable views of the Badlands prairie are available from the Notch Trail. Beginning with slightly difficult terrain, you'll reach a ladder about 0.3 miles in. For safety, space out from other climbers as the ladder sometimes becomes unstable with too many climbers. Next you'll come to a shallow canyon where the trail traces a fairly steep wall. Some sections may be unstable in harsher weather. The trail reaches a point with two metal posts after 0.6 miles. Stay right here for access to the overlook point. Views of the Badlands to the south, west, and east are wondrous.
