Penetrating the Badlands Wall that spans 100 miles of the South Dakota plains, the Window Trail offers an easy hike to view this rugged terrain, working its way into a deeply eroded ochre canyon. The trailhead is found off the Badlands Loop Road about two miles east of the Ben Reifel Visitor Center. Three trailheads may be found here: the Door, Window and Notch trails. On the south end, the Window Trail begins just above the Notch Trail. There are restrooms available 1000 feet north of the Window trailhead.
