From the boat ramp you start with an easy walk in the woods. At the junction with Twin Falls, you might consider checking out the double waterfall. It's less than a quarter-mile and well worth the side trip offering you a two-for-one waterfall sighting in a single spot. After checking out the falls, continue straight ahead at the junction. You'll travel through a dense forest and open meadow before arriving at Upper Two Medicine Lake, which sits at about 5,500 feet. It is the highest of the area's glacially fed lakes, and is surrounded by rocky peaks rising more than 8,000 feet in the sky. Remember, Glacier is grizzly country. Carry bear spray, make noise and travel in groups. The trailhead is at Two Medicine Boat Dock.
