Located six miles west of the St. Mary Visitor Center along the Going to the Sun Road, Rising Sun Motor Inn and Cabins offers a scenic base on the east side of Glacier National Park. Just a short drive from St. Mary Lake and surrounded by towering peaks, the property sits about 12 miles from Logan Pass. The season runs from mid-June through mid-September. Built in 1940 and renovated in 2015, the 72 unit property includes rustic cabins and motel style rooms. Motor Inn rooms are hillside accommodations with exterior access, while Store Motel rooms are located in the same building as the general store with interior hallway access. Duplex style cabins line the roadway through the complex. Each room includes a private bathroom and either one queen or two double beds. In keeping with the historic character of the property, there are no televisions, air conditioning, or in room telephones. Cooking is not permitted in or around cabins or motel rooms. On site amenities include the Two Dog Flats Grill, a general store and gift shop, and limited WiFi hotspot access. Red Bus tours, boat cruises, and hiking opportunities are available nearby. A limited number of accessible rooms are offered based on availability. All rooms and facilities are non smoking, and only service animals are permitted.
