Apgar Lookout Trail Details
This hike is not for the out-of-shape visitor: it's short but steep, climbing almost 2,000 vertical feet in less than 3 miles. There isn't any water along the trail so make sure you bring plenty. The trail climbs mostly through forest, and you won't great views until you reach the top. That makes the view even more stunning. From your 5,236-foot vantage you'll see the entire length of the Livingston Range and also Lake McDonald. Remember, Glacier is grizzly country. Carry bear spray, make noise and travel in groups.
