In peak months it can be almost impossible to find parking at some of Glacier's most popular stops along Going-to-the-Sun Road. Instead of wasting time circling the parking lot at the visitor's center at Logan Pass, hop on one of the park's free shuttles. The Apgar Transit Center provides all the information you'll need about riding the shuttle, as well as the hikes and sites along Going-to-the-Sun Road where you might want to hop off: it serves as the visitor center for this part of the park as well as a transit hub. Located near the West Entrance, the transit center has ample parking so can catch one of the small buses which leave every 15 to 30 minutes. Shuttles start running in June and continue through early September. You can take the shuttles from Apgar to the St. Mary's Visitor Center on the east side of the park, spending the whole ride taking in the view from the windows instead of keeping your eyes trained on the hairpin turns of Going-to-the-Sun Road.
