Schoodic Head Trail Details
Anvil, East, and Schoodic Head Trails all converge on top of Schoodic Head. A short .6-mile out-and-back hike, this moderately difficult, somewhat steep trail climbs through a mature evergreen forest, past cliffs, small bridges, and mossy rocks before cresting on Schoodic Head. Just before the wooded summit of the trail are good views to the west of the peninsula and the ocean beyond. Although Schoodic Head itself is a short trail, those wishing to access it must park at the Blueberry Hill parking area and hike to the trailhead using the Alder Trail, which is 1.2 miles and begins near the parking area. Blueberry Hill serves as the parking area for all of Schoodic Peninsula's four trails.
