Echo Lake Swimming Beach Details
Located south of Somesville and just north of Southwest Harbor on Mount Desert Island, this beautiful freshwater lake provides a spectacular setting for visitors to enjoy. With water temperatures of 65-70 degrees in the summer, it's a much more pleasant option than Maine's chilly ocean waters. You'll find changing rooms and restrooms here. If you just want to see the lake, not swim in it, there's a viewing area located down ramp from the parking lot. At the south end of the lake rises Beech Mountain with its signature fire tower and cliffs.
