Beech Mountain Details

The mountain is 839 feet high and gives hikers access to commanding views of Echo Lake. The treeless top is marked by a unique feature: an observation tower once used as a lookout for fires between Frenchman and Blue Hill Bays. While visitors are no longer permitted to climb the tower, the Beech Mountain ascent is still very popular and also offers spectacular views of Cadillac Mountain, Somes Sound, and the nearby Cranberry Islands.
