Cedar Sink Trail Details

Starting at the Cedar Sink Trailhead, this short but steep out-and-back hike will lead you through an incredible karst landscape of water-filled sinkholes, cave openings, and rocky cliffs. You will drop down into Cedar Sink, so be warned that you'll have to climb back out (although the steps make this easier). A platform overlook offers a view down into the sink before you descend. Water levels vary, but you should get at least a couple of glimpses of the underground rivers that flow beneath the surface here. If you time your visit right, the wildflowers are absolutely spectacular because of the fertile soil at the bottom of the sink, particularly in the spring. There is great birding along this trail, too.
