Green Bay Trail Details
Although this trail is mainly used for commuters going to and from Chicago, it is also ideal for cyclists and visitors, thanks to its accessibility and access to Lake Michigan. This 9-mile trail travels along the same route as Chicago's Metra rail line through the North Shore towns of Kenilworth, Winnetka, Highland Park, and Lake Bluff. Along the way, you can stop at any of the towns for lunch or a quick water break. Or you can make a short detour to the coast if you want to enjoy views of the lake. There is also a small sand beach in Wilmette for those who prefer more sand and surf.
