This beach on the North Shore in Evanston may be small, but it is impeccably clean and great for all types of outdoor activity. In the summer, you can go swimming (there is a lifeguard on duty), sunbathing, or hiking along the walking trail behind the sand. It sits in the shadow of the still operational Grosse Point Lighthouse, which was built in 1874. After a day at the beach, you can take a tour of the lighthouse and climb up 141-steps to reach the light tower at the top.
