Ideal for both day trips and overnight hikes, this 11-mile trail is suitable for all different levels of hikers. Some parts of the trail are wide and flat through wetlands and prairies, while other sections wind up and down through the hardwood valleys and flowing creeks. However, you can take your time on the more difficult parts since you will probably only encounter a handful of other hikers during your visit. Halfway through the loop is a primitive campsite, where you can post up for the night if you are spending the night. There is another well-developed campsite a few miles down the road, which can be used by slower hikers or families to break up the trip into a multi-day hike.
