Warm Springs Details

Although this small town of only 425 residents may not seem like a worthwhile stop on your trip, it is actually packed with stories that are guaranteed to delight both nature lovers and history buffs. It was here where the 32nd president of the United States, Franklin Delano Roosevelt was diagnosed with polio. He made subsequent visits to the town to soak in the natural healing springs that were initially believed to help build strength in his legs. FDR moved to the town during his presidency and even spent his last remaining years here in his cottage, which has since been turned into a public museum.
