Shark Valley Visitor Center Details
The Shark Valley Visitor Center is located northwest of the Ernest Coe Visitor Center and west of Miami, and provides access to the heart of the Everglades and the "River of Grass" -- the vast sawgrass prairie that is the signature ecosystem of the Everglades. The visitor center includes educational displays, videos, brochures, and a gift store. Additionally, tram tours, bike rentals, snacks, and drinks are available from Shark Valley Tram Tours. Two trails, the Tram Trail and the Bobcat Boardwalk, begin directly behind the visitor center, and both are handicap-accessible. Restrooms are available. The Shark Valley Visitor Center is open 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. mid-December to mid-April, and 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., mid-April to mid-December. Hours are subject to change, so call 305-221-8776 before visiting.
