Hells Bay Canoe Trail Details
This 5.5-mile (one way) trail snakes in and out of mangrove-lined creeks and a series of small bays. Hells Bay is a good choice if you want to camp out on one of the chickee campsites (elevated wooden platforms on open water), but remember that you must have a permit to do so. The first two are located at Pearl Bay and are 3.5 miles down the trail. For those looking for shorter options, it's possible to paddle just a short distance out and back. Regardless of your ambition, paddling in Hell's Bay will expose you to the complex ecosystem of the mangrove. Allow 6-8 hours to paddle the entire trail.
