West Lake Canoe Trail Details
As you make your way through a series of large, open bodies of water on this canoe trail, you'll pass through several narrow creeks lined with mangroves. These creeks are an awesome spot to see gators and even the occasional crocodile. The open waters can make for choppy days when it's windy, so be aware if the weather turns for the worse. The trail ends at Alligator Creek, which connects to Florida Bay. Primitive backcountry camping is available here, by permit. Restrooms are available at the trailhead. There also is a concrete ramp at the trailhead, which makes for a super easy launch.
