Erl King Shipwreck Details

Sailing from England to New Orleans, the _Erl King_ ran aground on Long Reef in 1891, and although the ship was declared a total loss, most of its cargo was salvaged. The shipwreck site was abandoned in 1892. The _Erl King_ rests in 15 to 20 feet of water, and the outline of the hull remains framed by metal hull plates and is clearly identifiable for divers. The shipwreck is part of the Biscayne National Park Maritime Heritage Trail.
