Wetherill Mesa Details

Wetherill Mesa is named after the Wetherills, ranchers near Mancos, who in the late 1800s befriended the local Ute tribe. Wetherill Mesa is a quieter, more remote section of Mesa Verde National Park that is accessed via Wetherill Mesa Road (no biking on this road please) during daylight hours from May through October. The main hub is the Wetherill Mesa Information Kiosk, where rangers will be happy to help you plan your day at Wetherill Mesa. Highlights include the only self-guided cliff dwelling, Step House, and the ranger-guided Long House.
