Round trip walking distance is only one mile with an elevation change of about 100 feet ~ the perfect little side trip as you explore Wetherill Mesa! Step House is open from mid-May through mid-October, and the trail begins and ends near the Wetherill Mesa Info Kiosk, where rangers are also happy to answer any questions you have!
