Clouds Rest Details
This is one of the most visually arresting peaks seen from the Yosemite Valley. An arete, a thin, knife-like ridge rock formed when glaciers eroded solid rock the 5,000-foot solid granite formation looms majestically over Tenaya Creek. Hikers who want to summit Clouds Rest have their choice of a 7-mile trail from Tioga Pass Road or a 9.4-mile trail from Happy Isles. Either is an attractive option for those who want to avoid the crowded trails on nearby Half Dome.
