Clark Range View (G6) Details

From this viewpoint, the Clark Range is visible from across the canyon. The Range extends from a north-south direction from Quarzite Peak to Triple Divide Peak and is named after Galen Clark, the first guardian of the Yosemite Grant and the first European American to discover the Mariposa Grove of Giant Sequoia trees. The Merced Peak is the highest in the range at 11,726 feet. Also visible are Mt. Clark (11,527 feet), Rafferty Peak (11,000 feet), Mt. Starr King (9,092 feet), Gray Peak (11,573 feet), and Red Peak (11,699 feet). Roadside marker: G6
