Pothole Meadows (G7) Details
The "potholes," as the pools are known, are approximately five feet in diameter and their origin is not quite understood. They were originally thought to have been formed by glaciers, however, the potholes were never covered by ice. Once the snow melts and the temperatures warm, the meadow explodes with a colorful display of wildflowers, including the bright lavender of the Shooting Star (Dodecatheon jeffreyi).
