Lost Man Creek Trail Details
The Lost Man Creek Trail is on an old logging road, making it a great place to explore via bicycle. The looming redwoods stand guard alongside the trail as it winds through a valley and over Lost Man Creek several times. Take the time to look for wildflowers, berries, and ferns in the understory. The trail ascends to the top of Holter Ridge (quite a climb!) and runs along the top, but there are no viewpoints from the ridge. To do the whole trail, bicycling is the recommended mode of travel; you can complete a 20-mile out-and-back or, if you're willing to ride on the road, take Bald Hills Road to Highway 101 north back to Lost Man Creek Road. The Lost Man Creek Trail begins at the marked trailhead at Lost Man Picnic Area on Lost Man Creek Road. Alternatively, you can access it on Bald Hills Road. Note: there is a stream crossing without a bridge, so be cautious.
