This day-use area is one of the best locations in the park to see Roosevelt elk. The meadow was logged by timber companies, but has now been restored to its natural state as a habitat for the park's iconic elk. The day-use area is open 24 hours a day, is ADA-accessible, and allows pets on a leash no longer than six feet. Elk can be aggressive, so don't approach them and only view them from a distance.
