44 Loop Trail Details
The 44 Loop is a long loop trail that is part of the Orick Horse Trail System. It begins at the Orick Rodeo Grounds and makes up the southern part of the network of trails here, open to both hikers and horses. The trail also offers access to the multi-use 44 Camp, a backcountry campsite with picnic tables, fire pits, bear-proof lockers, a pit toilet, corral, and trough. However, there is no water at the campsite. The trail ascends and descends several ridges between Bend Creek and Fourtyfour Creek, gaining and losing elevation, but employing switchbacks on the steepest grades.
