Shasta State Historic Park Details

Once a thriving mining town, the 19th-century buildings of Shasta are now preserved inside this historic park. Between 1850 and 1880, the settlement was the epicenter of culture and commerce for Northern California, although it's now a ghost town with only a few remaining structures. The park includes old schoolhouses, a brewery, a blacksmith shop, and a general store. There is also a courthouse building that has been restored to its original appearance as it was in 1861. It now contains a museum and art gallery with nearly 100 paintings from local artists.
