Richardson Grove State Park Details

Take a drive down Highway 101, and you will come across this park while crossing into Humboldt County. During the construction of the highway, large parts of the forest were removed, although many redwoods managed to survive being cut down. As a result, the park contains old-growth forests and even the 9th tallest redwood tree in the world. This is a popular spot for hiking and camping, although visitors can also go swimming and fishing down the Eel River. In the summer, you can also participate in guided tours or campfire programs offered by the visitor center rangers.
