Humbolt County locals love coming to this tranquil destination on the South Fork Eel River. After arriving at Richardson Grove State Park, you will wander through towering redwood groves before coming to the river. Although there is a small beach next to the trailhead, the more popular swimming hole is located a bit further downstream. Cross the footbridge over the river, and you will arrive at a small spot with shallow, green water (if you can not find it, just look for the umbrellas and towels dotted along the banks).
