After arriving at Richardson Grove State Park, you will wander through towering redwood groves before coming to the river. Although there is a small beach next to the trailhead, the more popular swimming hole is located a bit further downstream. Cross the footbridge over the river, and you will arrive at a small spot with shallow, green water (if you can not find it, just look for the umbrellas and towels dotted along the banks).
