Tuafanua Trail Details
The Tuafanua Trail switchbacks up from Vatia Village through the rainforest until reaching a hidden coastline. The ridge top offers ocean views before steeply descending via ladders and ropes to a secluded rocky beach with views of Pola Island. Note that entering the beach here is dangerous due to swift currents. To get to the trailhead, head to the Vatia School (ie, Mount Alava Elementary). The trail starts just before the school. The trail (and school) is closed on Sundays.
