Canyon Trail Details

The West Mountain Trails, including Canyon Trail, sit behind and to the west of Bathhouse Row. The trailhead for this .7-mile one-way trail is behind the Mountain Valley Water building, where there's also an area to park your car. It begins as a 150-yard serpentine path, which was once part of an old carriage road, Canyon Street. About halfway through, it intersects with the Oak Trail; stay right to remain on Canyon Trail. Hikers will head up the mountain on a novaculite outcropping and cross West Mountain Drive. The end of the Canyon Trail meets up with the West Mountain Trail just below West Mountain Drive; hikers can either turn around and return the way they came, or continue on the West Mountain Trail and Oak Trail to add about 1.2 miles total to their hike before returning to their cars.
