Tufa Rock, also known as DeSoto Rock, is a large boulder on the Arlington Lawn; just as it sounds, it's a large boulder made of tufa, which is a variety of limestone formed by the precipitation of carbonate minerals from water around mineral springs. There's a plaque on the bolder, which mentions the visit of Hernando de Soto to the area in 1541.
